Warren

Warren
Warren m
English: transferred use of the English surname, which is of Norman origin, derived partly from a place in Normandy called La Varenne ‘the game-park’ and partly from a Germanic personal name (cf. WERNER (SEE Werner)). In America it has sometimes been bestowed in honour of General Joseph Warren, the first hero of the American Revolution, who was killed at Bunker Hill (1775).
